Athayde Motta joined
Portal Commerce & Logistics in 2004 as Senior Consultant and
Co-Director of Portal’s Public Policy Analysis and Evaluation
Division. Athayde’s areas of expertise include Brazilian
federal, state, and local government public policy in the areas
of non-governmental organizations, social inclusion,
communication, affirmative action, and work force development.
As an academic
researcher and consultant Athayde has worked in the United
States, Mexico, Switzerland, Turkey, East Timor, Kenya, and
Brazil. He has served as project manager and research associate
for projects with the United Nations Research Institute for
Social Development (UNRISD), Oxfam-Australia, the Brazilian
Institute of Social and Economic Analyses (IBASE), the Ford
Foundation, Afirma, and the Center for African and
African-American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
Athayde Motta received
his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the Fluminense
Federal University in Brazil and Masters degrees in Anthropology
and Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
Currently, he is Ph.D candidate in anthropology at the
University of Texas at Austin.
