Lori M. Schroeder
joined Portal Commerce & Logistics in 2003 as a Senior
Consultant and Director of Legal Affairs. Lori has served as a
financial analyst with the United States Attorney’s Office, a
judicial extern for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of
Florida, an Assistant County Attorney in Texas, and Program
Manager for a United States Agency for International Development
(USAID) program for judicial training in Mexico.
Lori graduated Cum
Laude with a Bachelors degree from the University of Tampa,
a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Florida State University, and a
Master of Laws (LL.M) in International and Latin American Law
from the University of Texas School of Law. She has extensive
experience with Brazilian and Latin American law having held
several prestigious fellowships for academic research in Brazil
including, the National Security Education Program (NSEP) funded
by the U.S. Department of Defense, the Tinker Foundation, and
the Tereza Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at
the University of Texas at Austin. She has written and published
several articles on topics including judicial training and
development, fiscal responsibility legislation and public
finances, and intellectual property protection in the NAFTA.
