Dr. Paulo Fernandes Baia
is a
consultant with Portal Commerce & Logistics specializing in the
analysis of Brazilian fiscal policy, subnational government
public finances, and Latin American economic and regional
integration.
Paulo is a professor of
economics and public administration at the Pontifícia
Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC) and a recognized expert
in Latin American integration and development and applied
economic and mathematical methods. He has published widely and
he is a frequent contributor in the Brazilian media on such
topics as the policies of the "Lula" administration, the
Brazilian Worker’s Party, Brazil’s Fiscal Responsibility Law (LRF),
and developments in Mercosul.
Dr. Baia received his
Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees in Economics from the
Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC) and a Ph.D
in Economics from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo.
